Close the month on numbers that tie back to NetSuite.

SquareBooks reads your general ledger live through your own NetSuite AI Connector, checks every figure back to NetSuite before you see it, and has Claude explain what moved. We keep no copy of your ledger.

This is a replay of a demo run on a made-up company with made-up numbers.

How a run works

Every month runs the same five steps, in the same order. Nothing reaches the screen until step three passes.

  1. Connect your NetSuite

Your NetSuite admin sets up Oracle's free NetSuite AI Connector once. Each person then signs in with their own NetSuite login and role.

  2. Read the ledger live

SquareBooks reads the balances and lines it needs when you press Run. Nothing syncs overnight, so you always work on today's ledger.

  3. Tie before anything shows

Every figure is footed and agreed back to NetSuite. If it does not agree, you see the difference instead of the report.

  4. Claude explains what moved

Claude writes the variance commentary from the tied figures. Code then checks every amount in it against the table.

  5. Sign off and lock

A preparer and a reviewer, two different people, sign. The month locks, and the record of the run is kept with it.

Your ledger stays in NetSuite

SquareBooks reads what a run needs, shows it, and keeps only the record of what was signed.

Reads as each signed-in person
Every query runs under that person's NetSuite role, so they see only what NetSuite already lets them see.
No copy of your ledger
Transaction lines are read for the run and not stored. There is no second ledger to keep in step or to secure.
A record of every locked month
For a month you lock, we keep the account balances you signed off, who signed and when, and a fingerprint of what was read, so the month can be checked later.

Built for controllers and their auditors

The close produces what a good reviewer asks for, without anyone assembling it at the end.

  • Tie-outs. Every number agrees back to NetSuite before it is shown.
  • Sign-offs. A preparer and a reviewer, each with a name and a date.
  • Locked months. A signed month stays as it was signed. If NetSuite changes underneath it, SquareBooks flags the change.
  • An evidence pack. An Excel file with enough for your auditor to re-perform the run and reach the same figures.
